The Barn Stakeholders Meeting

The Barn Stakeholders met today to further the fundraising efforts for the Barn.

Representatives from  the Barn Committee, Pueblo County Historical Society and the Santa Fe Trials Association-Bent’s Fort Chapter, met with Bill Zwick, Pueblo City Planner.  The application for the State Historic Fund Grant is due April 1st.  We will be requesting $200,000.  We will need to meet about 30% of that amount with a cash match.  Our grant writer, Joyce, is submitting applications for smaller grants ($5,000-$20,000) to help raise these funds, and the city will be submitting another grant request for $150,000.  Mr. Zwick is aiming to raise enough funds to fund the total project of approximately $615,000 this year.

This may sound like a lot of money, but there is a lot of energy to get this barn restored and now is the time to do it!  Should you like to donate to this effort, please go to our website at www.goodnightbarnpueblo.org.  Your donation will be tax deductible.  Also, if you know of any individuals or groups that have a history of, or engage in, any western heritage lines of business, please feel free to let me know at This email address is being protected from spambots.
