The restoration of the Goodnight Barn is done!

The Committee is now working on issues of importance before we can open the Barn for tours and events.  Security and signage will be first.  We are talking with the Lake administration to see how we could go about putting in a bathroom.  This will take awhile, so any events we have, we will need porta potties.

Future events will include our famous yearly dinners.  The American Chuck Wagon Association is going to collaborate with us for an annual chuck wagon cook off!  These are people that are headquartered out of Texas, but their membership is nationwide.  They are excited to join us, as Charles Goodnight was the inventor of the chuck wagon (actually it was his mother that designed it!), and this group is excited to do a dinner at the original barn.

Rental of the venue will be in the future.  We will be happy to open the Barn for weddings, birthdays, reunions, etc.  But, we need to be secure and decide on prices, etc.  We will also offer tours for small or larger groups and COVID becomes less toxic.
In the future, we will develop a walking tour around the Barn area with highlights of what was there in the past and what brought Charlie to decide on this area to build his Rock Canyon Ranch.
